BMW Confirms Aprilia Venture

BMW and Aprilia are at an advanced stage in talks on a new joint project, BMW Italy Chairman Marco Saltalamacchia said recently.

USA - BMW and Aprilia are at an advanced stage in talks on a new joint project, BMW Italy Chairman Marco Saltalamacchia said recently. Speaking at the Geneva Motor Show, Saltalamacchia told reporters that "we are in an advanced stage of discussion. I believe there will be developments in the near future.” The two have already collaborated in the past. "At present we are examining possible joint industrial projects which would be in line with our strategies for future products. It is premature to go into detail now. There will be more to say in the coming months."

Last month, BMW Italy issued a statement saying that following the success of their joint 650 model, Aprilia and BMW of Germany were considering the development of a new motorbike.
